Fun

Went out with Sam today, and totally made my day. It was an awesome and tiring day where we played throughout and going to a quiet spot to play our games and laptop.

It's not all the fun with a friend, but being with one. It makes you forget your worries.

The JCs are going to start lessons soon. And frankly, I'm going to miss times with him and VoonJin. How could I not when I knew Sam for already 10 years and VoonJin for 4 years?

New Year

With a blink of the eye, it's already 2011. It has started off great.

It's totally disheartening to see people fight for status and power. And those who did not get it, choose not to be involved in it anymore. Well, isn't the fight for power and status all for the good of the team. We're a team, no matter whether or not we are leaders, we're responsible in any ways. It's seriously not cool to scold everyone else except yourself for what has happened. Things happen for a reason. Responsibilities can be entrusted to you not because you're the leader, it's the amount of confidence the person have in you to hold you responsible.

Those comments simply broke the bonds we have as a team. And would you be any happier if our team disband?

P/S: To all readers, Happy belated New Year.

KTV

Went to ktv with jr today. It was pretty ok, as we did something productive.

I wonder how people manage to make their lives after olevels extraordinary when mine is just the same usual routine I practise everyday. I wonder how people can be so happy after Olevels and say, 'Yea, no need learn anymore.' Shouldn't learning be taken place everyday? Lame.

I wonder why students like to complain every single day. Before olevels, they complain about not having fun. After Olevels, they work like no life zombies. Then they complain again that after olevels is more stressed than before Olevels. Isn;t that just self imposed stress?

Well, I'm back on all 3 blogs I had. \m/ Coz I have nothing to do.

Science Mock Practical Test

I woke up early in the morning to go to the school for the science mock practical exam. I think it was kind of screwed up as I did not have the mood to do it. After the practical, went to CWP with junrui, but sadly, most shops were closed and we could not fulfil what we wanted to do.

Anyway, August children, Happy (belated/advanced) Birthday to:

Sam Toh - 5th
Fathin - 6th
Xin Er - 7th
Yi Yun - 9th
Rui Jie - 10th
Pamela - 11th
Bob - 11th
Guo Wei - 14th
Natasha - 18th

Later, I went to meet up my guzheng members to go there together.

Sometimes, you got to be the initiative one to salvage the whole situation. Life's fragile, cherish everyone around you now. And sometimes, arguments can made friendship stronger.

EL ORALS!

I had English oral today. Before the oral, Yi Yun was full of jokes and was describing Ka Gee. We talked for an hour with Firdaus, Ka Gee, Yi Yun, Jing Kai before it was my turn to go up and prepare for the orals.

The oral topic was pretty easy although the picture may be quite challenging. Felt confident during the whole oral. The teachers were also quite nice. They smiled the whole way through the Oral test.

Madam Adawiyah came as a tester too but did not get tested by her.

Went to CCA, and can only hear the instructors scolding and scolding. Had a great chat with Evon.

There would be a practical mock examination tomorrow.

Well-hidden memories often explodes when there is a similar re-enactment. It's not that I still mind whatever had happened, but the whole incident linked back to those sad memories before. It needs time to recover again.

I'm Back.

Hey Guys, I'm back using this blog. I found out that the posts last time were really cool here.

Anyway, I shall be MIA-ing from these 2 blogs:

http://www.dl-94.blogspot.com/

http://derricklow.spaces.live.com/

They are privated anyway, so no point clicking on them.

After scanning through my posts, I have decided to stop being the way I am now.

I shall insert a tagboard soon. What would triumph other than returning to your old self. You know, sometimes, it is just about going one big round and realising the first is always the best.

My previous posts were mainly full of jiamin's literatural notes and profound phrases.

Right now for Olevels, I haveen't even started to revise a single subject. And well, I shall start soon.

For Myself:
If You're Gonna think that everything will go your way, think back. Who doesn't want it to be that way? Stop being an idiot and get on with it. Everything's just a challenge that you need to face. Bring out your CME skills and stop whining.

MORE TV = SHORT LIFE

For Xin Ying to read (:

Watching hours of TV daily could shorten your life

SYDNEY - Couch potatoes, beware. Sitting in front of the television for hours daily could shorten your life, according to an Australian study.
Researchers from the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute in the state of Victoria tracked the lifestyle habits of 8,800 adults and found that each hour spent in front of the TV daily increased the risk of dying earlier from cardiovascular disease.
The study, published in "Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association," found every hour in front of the TV was associated with an 11 percent increased risk of death from all causes, a 9 percent higher risk of cancer death, and an 18 percent increased risk of cardiovascular disease related death.
"Compared with people who watched less than two hours of television daily, those who watched more than four hours a day had a 46 percent higher risk of death from all causes and an 80 percent increased risk for CVD-related death," the researchers said in a statement.
The researchers said this association held regardless of other independent and common cardiovascular disease risk factors, including smoking, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, unhealthy diet, excessive waist circumference, and leisure-time exercises.
Researcher David Dunstan said the study focused specifically on television watching but the findings suggest that any prolonged sedentary behavior, such as sitting at a desk or in front of a computer, may pose a health risk.
"The human body was designed to move, not sit for extended periods of time," said Dunstan, head of the institute's physical activity laboratory in the division of metabolism and obesity.
"Technological, social, and economic changes mean that people don't move their muscles as much as they used to - consequently the levels of energy expenditure as people go about their lives continue to shrink.
"For many people, on a daily basis they simply shift from one chair to another -- from the chair in the car to the chair in the office to the chair in front of the television."
Dunstan said the findings applied not only to individuals who were overweight and obese, but also those of a healthy weight.
"Even if someone has a healthy body weight, sitting for long periods of time still has an unhealthy influence on their blood sugar and blood fats," he said.
"In addition to doing regular exercise, avoid sitting for prolonged periods and keep in mind to 'move more, more often'. Too much sitting is bad for health."
The researchers interviewed 3,846 men and 4,954 women aged 25 and older who underwent oral glucose-tolerance tests and provided blood samples so researchers could measure biomarkers such as cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
Participants were enrolled from 1999 and followed through 2006 and reported their television-viewing habits.
